November, 2008 - It's nearing the end of the tourist season for Central Australia. Only the bargain hunters, the die-hard adventurous and the locals still remain. It's not that Alice Springs and Uluru are any less spectacular this time of year - it's just that it's bloody hot, with temperatures soaring above 120 degrees consistently and a persistent dry wind that sucks the moisture out of everything. Even the water is thirsty this time of year. And in the middle of it all is native Australian Pete Reed, returning to his sunburnt country on a Journey to Uluru to experience the beauty and peace (and flies) of the Australian Outback.
